Android Smart TV : How to Connect to WiFi Network and Setup Internet Connection in Android TV

This articles shows how to to connect Android Smart TV to WiFi network and access internet. We have to connect Android TV to WiFi Router or mobile hotspot to access internet.

Steps to Connect to WiFi Router:

  • Turn on WiFi Router and note the SSID name or WiFi name
  • Turn on Android TV and go to Settings
  • Select Network and Internet
  • Select SSID name or WiFi name from available network list
  • Enter WiFi Password
  • Select Connect

Steps to Connect to Mobile Hotspot:

  • Create hotspot in mobile phone
  • Turn on Mobile Hotspot and note the SSID name or hotspot name
  • Turn on Android TV and go to Settings, select settings icon from home screen
  • Select Network and Internet option
  • Select SSID name or hotspot name from available network list
  • Enter Password of the hotspot
  • Select Connect

This article shows how to do screen mirroring using google home app. Screen mirroring transfers the media you are playing on your smartphone onto your TV over a Wi-Fi connection, So you can watch video in big screen.

For this, your TV should support chromecast feature. Go to settings --> device preferences and search for cast or chromecast built-in option.

Steps to Start Mirroring:

  • Install google home app from playstore in your phone
  • Connect both mobile phone and TV to same wifi network (we can use mobile hotspot)
  • Open Google home app
  • Tap on devices tab
  • Tap on TV name
  • Tap on Screen mirroring
  • Tap on Start

Steps to Stop Mirroring:

  • Opens Google Home App
  • Tap on connected TV name
  • Tap on Stop Mirroring

This article shows how to change screen resolution of android TV. Android TV has provided an option to change the resolution based on our requirements, options are 8K, 4K, Full HD, and HD. Normally android TV will auto select the best resolution for the TV, but user can change it.

Procedures to Follow:

Go to settings, select Display, then select screen resolutions, you would be able to see the list of supported resolutions, please select one resolution from the list and apply it. This way we can change the display resolution of the TV.
